Am cântat „I believe I can fly” în timpul competiției.

It was fantastic indeed. I can’t describe I how felt. And it was amazing. The scene that I had been watching on internet was on the screen behind me. I was there, there was my name UMPAUL from South Korea… I was really happy. I had been dreaming that I wanted to give it a show like a singer or performer, if I participated at WLAC. And I did it in front of many people. I sang “I believe I can fly” during the competition. I was happy no matter if I were to take the 1st place or not. I can even recall all the feelings, audience’s faces, atmosphere, sound, everything.

Tell us about the most cherished memory you have about coffee.
I didn’t graduate from my college, I decided to work with coffee. I was and still am crazy about coffee and latte art. My mom has never visited my coffee shop for 6 years. While my sister drove my mom and took out the coffee, mom stayed in the car, not stepping out from the vehicle. I knew she was worried, not hating her son. I had a chance to hold a coffee seminar in my hometown several years later. My mom attended the seminar with my sister. I was happy indeed and asked her when I got back home: “Mom! How was it? Was it good?”; Then mom said: “Yeah, it was good, do what you like”. I knew what she meant. She’s now my biggest fan, asking every barista in town: “Do you know UmPaul?” which makes me feel embarrassed and wanting to go away.
