Street Coffee Roasters a început ca idee în Londra acum 5 ani, inspirată mai exact din Starbucks, Climpson and Sons și Ozone Coffee Roasters.
Locuind în UK și lucrând la Starbucks pentru a învăța de la cei mai buni în afacerile cu cafea, Andrei a vrut să aprofundeze. A ajuns la Climpson and Sons din Hackney, o cafenea micuță cu 10 locuri, unde a băut primul espresso de specialitate (fără zahăr). Era o Etiopia cu un gust deosebit și barista i-a explicat cum stă treaba cu cafeaua lor.
La Ozone a avut parte de o experiență nouă. Faptul că ei prăjeau cafea în aceeași locație în care puteai sta ca și client, mirosul, atmosfera și syphon-ul băut au fost destul încât să își dorească asta pentru el.
A urmat o perioadă de băut cafea și luat la rând toate cafenelele de specialitate din Londra.
În toată această perioadă, vorbea cu Ionuț despre ideea de a prăji cafea și de a deschide un coffee-shop mic bazat pe „to go” în Oradea. Ideea era să fie o afacere mică, pe care să o poată susține împreună.
Ionuț a mers în Londra ca să se convingă singur de cele povestite și au luat împreună hotărârea să meargă mai departe cu cafeneaua și prăjitoria.
Street Coffee Roasters started as an idea in London 5 years ago, inspired more precisely by Starbucks, Climpson and Sons and Ozone Coffee Roasters.
Living in the UK and working at Starbucks to learn from the best in the coffee business, Andrei wanted to go deeper.
He arrived at Climpson and Sons in Hackney, a small 10-seat café, where he drank his first specialty espresso (no sugar). It was an Ethiopian with a special taste and the barista explained to him how things worked with their coffee.
Ozone provided a new experience. The fact that they roasted coffee in the same location where you could sit as a customer, the smell, the atmosphere and the siphon he enjoyed were enough to make him want that for himself.
A period of drinking coffee followed and all the specialty cafés in London took turns.
During all this time, he talked to Ionuț about the idea of roasting coffee and opening a small coffee-shop based on “to go” in Oradea. The idea was to be a small business that they could support together.
Ionut went to London to convince himself of what he heard and together they decided to go further with the café and the roastery.
