Belarus, de exemplu, a organizat prima competiţie sezonul trecut şi, după cum se vede, cultura cafelei înfloreşte pretutindeni, în toate cafenelele. Dar nu avea trainer, deşi erau mulţi doritori să îşi însuşească aceste cunoştinţe. Aşa că, împreună, am organizat câteva sesiuni de pregătire pentru diferite module. Odată ce am găsit un trainer, l-am trimis acolo şi oamenii au avut parte de educaţia pe care şi-o doreau. Este foarte frumos pentru că poţi fi la conducerea unei comunităţi de cafea în dezvoltare şi ce poate fi mai bun de atât?!
Pot să merg şi în diferite ţări ca reprezentant şi să ajut. Anul trecut am fost în Danemarca. Ai ocazia să discuţi cu mulţi oameni despre ce înseamnă SCAE pentru ei… E plăcut.”
Ai şi alte proiecte noi?
Dacă eşti un degustător pasionat, trebuie să fi auzit despre proiectul secundar al lui Kim: CuppingSpoonSock.
Ea a recunoscut că nu se pricepe la vânzări, aşa că a dăruit 100 de bucăţi până când a urmat sfatul familiei şi al prietenilor şi şi-a deschis un magazine online pe Etsy.
„Oameni pe care nu îi cunoşteam le-au cumpărat şi apoi, la World of Coffee, în Dublin, cineva şoptea <Aceea este fata? Cred că ea este! >, ca apoi amândoi să exclame <TA-DAAA> şi să văd că amândoi au câte un CuppingSpoonSock. Am râs. A fost minunat! Cred că s-a întâmplat de vreo trei ori, ceea ce este foarte tare.”
Belarus, for example, organised their first competitions last season and, you can tell, coffee culture is really blossoming everywhere, cafés all around.. But they didn’t have any trainers, even though they had a lot of people who wanted that knowledge. So, together, we set up a number of trainings for different modules. Once I found a trainer, we sent him there and people received the education they wished for It’s really nice because you get to be at the forefront of a developing coffee community and what’s better that that?!
I can also go to different countries as a Rep and help out. Last year I was in Denmark. You get to talk to a lot of people about what SCAE means..what it could mean to them.. It’s nice”.

If you’re a passionate cup taster, you might have heard about Kim’s side project: The CuppingSpoonSock.
She admitted she’s “bad” at selling so she gave away around a hundred pieces of them until she finally gave in to family and friends, and created an Etsy online shop.
“People that I didn’t know bought them and then at World of Coffee, in Dublin, I heard someone whisper <Is that the girl? I think that’s her!> and then they both went TA-DAAA and both had a CuppingSpoonSock”. We laughed. “That was awesome! I think it happened like three times, so that’s cool”.
