Cel mai bun espresso pe care l-ai băut anul acesta.
„A fost de fapt un cappuccino la Barista School în Bucureşti care avea o față desenată de către Sebastian. A fost foarte amuzant pentru că l-am văzut şi i-am spus <Oh, trebuie să fii un concurent! > Adică, se vedea clar că era o cafea de competiţie! Dar când vine vorba de cel mai bun espresso este dificil. Încerci atât de multe încât, după un timp, te simţi istovit aşa că, sunt de părere că cea mai interesantă experienţă cu un espresso am trăit-o la prima mea competiție.
Era o cafea din Guatemala, Pacamara şi avea gust de grepfrut mereu, dar chiar în ziua competiţiei avea gust de portocală roşie. Absolut corect! Era atât de bună şi de echilibrată că totul s-a aranjat perfect după aceea.
Cafeaua era ca un adolescent, cu toane, volatilă şi dificilă, dar în ACEA zi: rai.”
Câteva cuvinte de înţelepciune pentru comunitatea de Barista din România?
„Este important să încerci şi să faci voluntariat la cât mai multe evenimente, să cunoşti oameni, pentru că nu suntem doar o comunitate locală, ci una globală şi avem nevoie să comunicăm.”

The best espresso you’ve had this year.
“It was actually a cappuccino at the Barista School in Bucharest and it came with a face drawn on it, made by Sebastian. It was really funny because I saw it and I said <Oh, you must be a competitor!> I mean..you could see that it was a competition coffee! But when it comes to the best espresso it’s hard, you know? You try so many that, after a point, you tend to get jaded and so I think the most interesting experience with an espresso was during my first competition.
It was a coffee from Guatemala, Pacamara, and it tasted like grapefruit the whole time, but on the competition day itself, it tasted like blood-orange. Spot on! It was so good and so balanced that everything came together after that.
That coffee was like a teenager, moody, volatile and so difficult to work with, but on THAT day: heaven.”
Any words of wisdom for the Barista community in Romania?
“It’s important to try and go to as many volunteer events as possible, meet people, because we’re not just a local community, we’re a global one and we need to communicate”.
