Poţi numi o persoană care ţi-a influenţat cariera?
„Da, există o persoană foarte importantă pentru mine: Anne Marie Tiemes. Îmi este colegă acum, dar înainte era Coordonator SCAE pentru Olanda când eu concuram pentru prima oară şi ea m-a impulsionat să fac voluntariat la World of Coffee. Ea mi-a arătat cât de important este să te implici în comunitate, iar asta m-a ajutat în carieră. Iubesc să lucrez cu ea, este foarte faină! Cunoaşte pe toată lumea şi toţi o cunosc pe ea – este un liant şi aşa sunt şi eu: o mini Anne Marie care uneşte oamenii.”
Povesteşte-mi despre cea mai memorabilă experienţă cu aromă de cafea şi despre băutura ta preferată.
„Trebuie să spun Scandinavian Embassy. Îmi place mult mâncarea lor şi suntem şi prieteni, am lucrat acolo o perioadă, între Coffee Company şi SCAE. Îmi place mult cum lucrează cu cafeaua, cum o combină cu mâncarea.
Vedem asta în întreaga lume, cafenele care servesc şi multă mâncare, dar simt că mai avem mult de îmbunătăţit aici, în Olanda. Chiar mă deranjează! Mereu când mă duc la o cafenea unde se serveşte mâncare bună mă bucur foarte mult.
Acasă folosesc un Aeropress şi câteodată un French Press, dar recunosc că sunt fană Aeropress!”
Can you name someone that influenced your career?
“Yes, there is one person very important to me: Anne Marie Tiemes. She is my colleague now, but she used to work as a SCAE Coordinator for Holland when I competed the first time, and she really pushed me to volunteer at World of Coffee. She showed me how important it is to be involved with the community, so that really helped me in my career. I love working with her, she’s really cool! She knows everyone and everyone knows her – she’s a connector and so am I: a mini Anne Marie; connecting people.”
Tell me about the best coffee experience so far and your drink of choice.
“I’d have to say Scandinavian Embassy. I really like their food and we’re also friends, I used to work there for a bit, in between Coffee Company and SCAE. I really like what they do with coffee, how they pair it with your meal.
You see it everywhere in the world, coffee houses do a lot of food as well, but I feel like we still have a long way to go, here in the Netherlands. It actually bothers me! Whenever I go to a café that serves good food, it makes me super happy.
I use an Aeropress at home and, sometimes, a French Press, but, I must admit I’m an Aeropress fan”!
